Why is eating less meat really better for the environment?

Did you think that ceasing your consumption of meat because you are an environmentalist is because you care too deeply about the animals to consume them? Well, think again...

The greenie environmentalists are so because of many reasons. For starters, over a third of our fossil fuels are used toward animal agriculture. Hmmm...did you know that? I didn't. Did you know that we eat an amazing 200 million pounds of beef from Central America? The only reason we can get that much beef from there is to totally deplete rainforests and forests making space for farm land. My goodness, it takes a lot of energy to make our beef.

Wait...I'm not done yet. What about water consumption? It takes about 2500 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef. That's like 2.5 weeks of showers.

I'm not asking you to go vegetarian cold-turkey. Just think about it a little...cows are more damaging than cars with their carbon footprint.
